Chile gets 5 awards at the World Travel Awards

In the latest edition of the World Travel Awards, often called the “Oscars of Tourism,” the country received five major distinctions, reaffirming its position as one of the most spectacular and diverse destinations in South America.

This year, Chile was honored as South America’s Leading Adventure Destination, Leading Green Destination, Leading Nature Destination, Leading Cruise Destination, and the Atacama Desert was named Most Romantic Destination.

Adventure from North to South

For adventure seekers, Chile remains unbeatable. From trekking through Patagonia’s trails, surfing along the Pacific coast, and rafting down southern rivers, to sandboarding in the dunes of the Atacama and skiing in the Andes, the entire country is a playground for exploration.

A Green and Natural Paradise

Chile’s commitment to sustainability earned it the title of Leading Green Destination. With 46 national parks, nature reserves, and countless protected landscapes, the country invites travelers to reconnect with the planet’s raw beauty — from towering glaciers to ancient forests and crystal-clear lakes.

The Romance of the Atacama Desert

For the second year in a row, the Atacama Desert was named South America’s Most Romantic Destination. Its surreal landscapes, star-filled skies, and glowing sunsets offer the perfect setting for connection and unforgettable memories.

From Deserts to Fjords: A Journey by Sea

Chile also earned the title of South America’s Leading Cruise Destination, a recognition that celebrates its impressive coastline stretching from the world’s driest desert to the icy fjords of Patagonia. Every port opens the door to unique adventures and breathtaking views.

With its endless diversity — deserts, glaciers, mountains, forests, lakes, and coastlines — Chile continues to captivate travelers from around the world. Whether by land or sea, it’s a destination where every journey becomes an extraordinary story.
